It's with a heavy heart this Easter Sunday that we remember the sacrifice of Huntsville Police Officer Garrett Crumby. On March 28, 2023, Officer Crumby and his partner, Officer Albert Morin, responded to a "shots fired" call and were ambushed by the subject. Both Crumby and Morin took rounds from the individual, later identified as Juan Laws. Officer Crumby was fatally struck by the gunfire and died from his wounds that night at Huntsville Hospital.

Officer Crumby was a hero who dedicated his life to serving and protecting his community. He made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and his bravery and selflessness will never be forgotten.

Despite the tragedy of his passing, we are reminded of the incredible impact that Officer Crumby had on the lives of those around him. He was a beloved member of the Huntsville Police Department and was known for his dedication, kindness, and bravery.

In the wake of Officer Crumby's passing, we have seen an outpouring of support from the community. People have come together to honor his memory and to show their appreciation for the sacrifices that law enforcement officers make every day.

We honor Officer Crumby and all of the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness inspire us every day, and we are grateful for their service and sacrifice.
