VONDA MORTON
ASSOCIATE EDITOR

ABOUT VONDA
An editor for the past 17 years, Vonda Lee Morton has polished documents ranging from academic research to fiction to web copy to legal documents, and almost every variation in between. Over 130 of the manuscripts she edited were published.
When she’s not editing, Vonda is a state and federally licensed wildlife rehabilitator, specializing in raptors. She’s held her rehab permits for over 20 years. Her favorite raptors are red tail hawks and screech owls.
Vonda’s undergrad and graduate degrees are in history and her Ph.D. is in geography. She worked over 10 years as a college instructor (history and geography) and administrator and over four years as a journalist, during which time she proofread and edited other reporters’ stories and the pages as they were laid out, wrote a weekly column, and won a Georgia AP award for non-deadline reporting, before moving into freelance editing full-time.
Vonda lives in her paternal grandparents’ home on the sixth-generation family farm in Laurens County, Georgia.
